A Layered Map of Reality — From Consciousness to Cosmos

By Anand Bhushan

“From the Infinite, the finite arises. But even when the finite arises, the Infinite remains infinite.”— Isha Upanishad

For thousands of years, sages, scientists, and seekers have asked:What is the nature of reality?Where do we come from? Why do we suffer? What is God? Who am I?

After decades of exploring ancient scriptures, observing life closely, and reflecting deeply, I arrived at a realization — that reality is not random, but layered and lawful, and that the answers to these questions are hidden in plain sight.

To express this truth visually and simply, I created the Universal Truth Visualization Model — a 2D layered map that helps explain the journey of consciousness as it manifests into reality.

Let’s dive in.

The Big Picture: From God to Galaxy

The model is divided into three vertical layers representing the full spectrum of reality:

Layer

Domain

Essence

Layer 1

Eternal Reality

Infinite Stillness, Pure Consciousness, Para-Brahman (God)

Layer 2

Field of Manifestation

Vibrational Energy, Space-Time, Dharma, Creative Forces (Shakti)

Layer 3

Manifested Universe

Matter, Life, Planets, Atoms, Maya (illusion of separation)

Now let’s break it down layer by layer.

Layer 1: Infinite Stillness / Pure Consciousness

At the foundation of everything lies Para-Brahman — formless, timeless, unchanging. This is not “a god” with a name or shape. It is God as Pure Consciousness — Sat-Chit-Ananda:

  • Sat – Existence

  • Chit – Consciousness

  • Ananda – Bliss

This layer is without vibration — it is stillness, potential, silence. The Purusha, or eternal observer, lives here.

💡 Think of this like the blank canvas before any painting exists. Everything that arises, arises from this.

Layer 2: Creative Presence / Vibrational Field

From the stillness of Layer 1, arises the creative vibration — the first movement, the OM. This is the Shakti field — a dynamic energy that gives rise to:

  • Space, Time, and Gravity

  • The subtle forces of Rajas (creation), Tamas (dissolution), and Sattva (balance)

  • The cosmic deities: Brahma (creator), Vishnu (sustainer), Shiva (transformer)

  • The Five Elements (Pancha Mahabhuta): Akasha (ether), Vayu (air), Agni (fire), Jala (water), Prithvi (earth)

This layer is the Presence — where creation becomes possible but is still not materialized.

Here, Dharma governs all emergence — the eternal law that keeps the cosmic cycle balanced.

Layer 3: Manifested Universe / Maya

This is the world as we see it:

  • Quantum Fields

  • Atoms

  • Molecules

  • Stars

  • Galaxies

  • Life on Earth

But here’s the twist: this reality is Maya — not false, but a projection. We mistake it for the whole, but it’s only the surface.

This is where the illusion of separation arises. The ego thinks:

“I am this body, this role, this mind.”

And thus begins suffering — forgetting our origin in Layer 1, and mistaking Layer 3 as the only truth.

The Cycle of Creation and Return

The model depicts a circular flow that mirrors the cycle of:

  1. Emergence from Infinite Stillness → Creative Energy → Form

  2. Return through awareness, dharma, and spiritual evolution → back to Stillness

🌀 This cycle is not a myth — it’s happening every moment, in every breath, every atom, every spiritual seeker.

This is the Eternal Cycle of Creation and Dissolution — represented in the model by the grey circular path of rise and return.

The Role of Dharma – The Cosmic Law

Running through all layers is Dharma — not “religion,” but the law of balance, alignment, and truth.

  • When creation (Rajas) goes out of control, Tamas (destruction) returns it to silence.

  • When dissolution threatens to undo everything, Sattva (balance) restores harmony.

Dharma ensures that the universe doesn’t collapse into chaos, and that consciousness always has a path back to itself.

Worship as Reconnection

Notice the yellow vertical arrow on the right — labeled Worship. In this model, worship is not ritualistic. It is the act of remembering and reconnecting with your Source — Pure Consciousness.

Whether through prayer, silence, meditation, or service — true worship is the soul’s way of reversing the cycle:

From form → to energy → to stillness → to God.

Why This Model Matters

This model doesn’t just explain the cosmos. It helps us answer life’s deepest questions:

Question

Answer from the Model

Who am I?

You are consciousness expressing through form.

Why do I suffer?

You forget your true layer and identify with separation.

What is the purpose of life?

To live in alignment with Dharma and return to wholeness.

What is God?

Not a form, but the infinite stillness from which all forms arise.

What is worship?

Reconnecting with your true nature.

Reflection

Your life is not random. Your struggles are not meaningless. They are the ripple effects of forgetting your infinite identity.

This model isn’t just a diagram. It’s a mirror—to help you remember:

  • You are not just a part of the universe.

  • You are the silent witness from which the universe arises.

  • You are the truth trying to awaken in form.

So return inward. Follow the path of Dharma. And know this, with certainty:

You were never broken. You are the Universal Truth, unfolding beautifully, one layer at a time.
